The colors for the home were inspired by Lauren's desire to have the color grey included in the color scheme and Juwan's desire to have the color yellow included in the color scheme.

Go Mad for Plaid

Plaid is a huge must in your wardrobe this fall.
Whether it is tartan, hounds tooth or checkered, it doesn't matter, as long as it is plaid.
The best part about this fall trend that I love is that you can casually pair your plaid with leather, animal or floral prints.  You can also dress it up with sequins, chiffon and lace.  This is your chance to experiment and make a style statement that will definitely get you noticed.
Ladies, here are a few ways to express your style in plaid, this fall.



Guys, you can show off your style in plaid as well with clothing items such as, a classic plaid shirt, a plaid vest, coat, scarf or shoes.  For a business look, throw on a plaid blazer over a dress shirt with a pair of basic colored slacks.

Hello September....Hello Fall

It’s September and fall is right around the corner.  It is definitely my favorite season.

I love feeling the crisp autumn breeze, watching the leaves on the trees change to vivid colors, sitting in front of the fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa, wearing a favorite sweater or scarf, eating a caramel apple, carving a pumpkin, going on a hayride and the sweet smell of  baked cookies and pies infused with mulling spices.   

There is a renewed energy and enthusiasm in the air as a new season begins. Why not bring the renewed feeling of fall right to the front door of your home with a festive wreath.

Here is my fall wreath that I made along with a tutorial to help you do it yourself.

I purchased my supplies at A.C. Moore Crafts for under $20.00.  I picked up a grapevine wreath, a few bouquets of artificial flowers, and deco mesh for my ribbon but any color wire edge ribbon or items of your choice will do. This is your time to get creative!

 I used a hot glue gun to attach all of my items onto the wreath. 

 I also added some artificial fruit, cones and pumpkins.

You are done, attach your door wreath hanger and you are ready to welcome fall!

So you don’t want to paint the walls? Try a color makeover by switching out some accessories.  Place color in the bedroom with pillows, rugs, curtains and accessories. Go bright with colors that initate energy.

According to www.dreammoods.com colors in dreams are subjective and personal.  I believe if you surround yourself in those colors you will invoke dreams, behaviors and spirits not only in your bedroom but your personal life.  These are the colors and feelings I am trying to invoke in my bedroom.

Teal

Brown denotes worldliness, practicality, domestic bliss, physical comfort, conservatism, and a materialistic character. Brown also represents the ground and earth. You need to get back to your roots.
